An unusually fine example of a late 19th-century Empire-style basket chandelier, with beautifully cast gilt bronze mounts and hand-cut crystal strands. The shell and acanthus detailing is crisp and well-finished, typical of better French or Belgian production of the period.
The proportions are elegant and generous, with all original, antique faceted crystal beads - rare, heavy and incredibly pretty
Pieces of this age and refinement are increasingly hard to find intact.
